Magnet develops the official government website, used to report on campaigns, news and search for government services.
Challenge
Each new regime created a website from scratch. This time the project had to be the solution to this problem, leaving in Magnet's hands the development of a useful and versatile website, able to adapt to each administration.
Process
The main goal of the site was to inform citizens about news, institutions, authorities and government campaigns. In this context, a content management system or CMS with three modules was implemented. They are in charge of editing and publishing news, managing all posted campaigns and reporting on government entities
Afterward, 3 more modules had to be implemented. An emergency module that changes the layout of the site and reports the events to its visitors. The second one is for streaming and takes over the live transmissions of the State. And a third one that boosts the autonomy or management of the site, allowing its administrators to create landing pages.
Finally, the site had to comply with the standards of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), allowing for inclusive comprehension and use of web resources. In this way, Magnet made sure that the layout of the site was clear, with defined sections and titles highlighted by size and color. In addition, a ReadSpeaker was implemented which allows the texts to be read aloud, ensuring that the site is useful to as many users as possible.
Results
In consideration that the project was developed in such a way that its administrators can directly manage the website, giving them total autonomy, and was made in compliance with the OECD's standards of usability and inclusive content. For the first time in history, the portal www.gob.cl/ is kept as the official site of the Chilean Government.
